MG
can provide substantial assistance to structural engineers (SE), and save
the SE valuable time and money in many ways. SE's can reduce project design
costs by 'fine-tuning' a building's structure and by optimizing the use
of LGSF. SE's often think that by 'simplifying' the palette of structural
wall types used, they are helping the fabricator. For example, where a
combination of lighter studs might have been a better choice, heavier
steel is often specified with the goal of 'keeping it simple.' This actually
works against the overall project economics.
MG's powerful wall panel software by CyberSteel allows us to prepare shop
drawings for an unlimited number of steel gauges and size combinations.
Complexity is easily handled and can create substantial savings. SE's
need to understand how MG's software can assist them.
MG has also developed a comprehensive library of construction details,
and a "structural engineering guidebook" to simply the interface
between SE and our shop drawing software. MG's smooth communications with
the SE will substantially reduce his drawing and design costs.
