Where
structural steel ('red-iron') is intermixed with LGSF, there are often
problems with tolerances and coordination between the two types of steel
systems. On some previous projects MG has actually contracted to prepare
all the structural steel shop drawings, and has coordinated red iron with
LGSF prior to the bid process. Multiple bidders can then bid on a set
of identical 'apples to apples' red-iron drawings. In this way, scope
of work issues will virtually disappear..
